London Calling (part 2)

Il Bravo Figlio
by Vittorio Bongiorno

Personal appearance by the author in London at the LSE

Vittorio Bongiorno will present his novel recently acclaimed by the public and the critics in Italy. It is funny, entertaining, clever: We will read excerpts and Vittorio will tell us how he worked at it.

The setting is Palermo in the early ‘90s, the times are the hottest years in the war against the mafia, the story is about two boys whose life will take a dramatic turn and will set them apart, though neither time nor distance will diminish their feelings.

A delicate and intimate reflexion on family life, discovery, love and hate, coming of age and yearning for independence, Il Bravo Figlio screams against the criminality that affects the lives of everybody in Sicily without ever saying the word “mafia”.
